Michael is a native New Yorker, mostly growing up in Queens with a stint on Long Island. He likes the simple things in life such as a good pourover coffee or iced americano, the smell of rain, dewy grass, and a pleasant homecooked meal. But he can be a little bougie, as well. Also pretends to speak four languages.
In his career, Michael’s worked in public relations for quite some time from luxury travel and hospitality at a boutique agency to more accessible travel and consumer goods at a very large firm called Weber Shandwick.
He’s now a brand strategist at Marina Maher Communications (MMC) using his FBI-level research skills and brain meats to help launch new products, brands, campaigns, etc. Clients include: P&G, Coty, Johnson & Johnson, Eisai Oncology, and more.
Michael received his Bachelors in Corporate Communications and Journalism/Creative Writing at CUNY Baruch College. He also visited the University of Iowa in 2017 for its Summer Writing Festival to study poetry with Michael Morse.
In addition, he learned Spanish abroad in Valparaíso, Chile for six months. While there, Michael ran his first 10k, hiked Patagonia and other terrains, visited the Atacama Desert, and was smuggled into Bolivia for three days. He misses his Chilean host parents and their former cat, Tara.
